Welcome to First Grade!
First grade students have been learning about Mexican Serapes. These beautiful artworks have been used for many things such as blankets, clothes, flags, rugs, and many other things. To create the Serapes, students used a ruler to draw their sections for color. Then we talked about tints (adding white to a color) and shades (adding black to a color). The students painted their Serapes using tints and shades. They will add some final details by gluing white yarn onto the edges of their Serapes.
